Bvnt:
Some of your fans called you more fire some say king Songo and some say Capleton. What is your actual name?

Capleton:
My name on my birth certificate is Clifton George Bailey. As you know that is none of my name. That is a slave master name. You know George is a Greek name, Clifton an English and bailey is an Irish name. That is what I get, you know. The youth dem say Capleton and some say King David and king songo. I know some people will be wondering what king Songo mean. King Songo is a Yoruba name. Songo in Yoruba mean fire.

Bvnt:
How did you start about in music?

Capleton:
It started from the street sites you know beating pans and dux box. You know it is an inborn concept. I have been working on from different sound systems from the country site to Kingston. Then I hooked up with the Xterminator label. I did my first 45 called “B B red”. In Jamaica they called it “Bombo Red”

Bvnt:
How important is for you to put varieties together?

Capleton:
You know in music you have to please every one. You have to make every one happy. Music is all about make people joyful, releases the stress and to live up rithious. Me a tell the massive to stay focus look for your gold and go out for it. Music is not for any one special but for every one.

Bvnt:
How is the paste of reggae now?

Capleton:
Gigantic, large you know. Reggae music is unstoppable. This is the music that brings many people of different origin together. It is joyful to see even white people singing words to words and you can’t believe. So the music is vase, large and we are transcending the message out there. It is all about one love and unity. Bob Marley has already set it. I and I come now to continue with the work. Make the people know equal rights and justice for all. Dead to black and white down pressure. Let dem know that Haile Salasi is the almighty, Marcus Garvy is the prophet and Emanuel is the priest who set the levity. Marcus is the man who gets the vision Haile Salasi I is the king of king and lord of lord conquering lion of the tribe of Judah the ruler of all who elect himself, you know.

Bvnt:
You sang a song “Jah Jah city”, “Who Dem” Who are you talking about?

Capleton:
Jah jah city is all about promoting life. You know these guys they are living in a dead world. All they do is dead. Crux fiction is dead, communion is dead and re-creation is dead. They diagnose things, they put in diet, dilute it, dedicate, you know what I mean, diverse it you know what am saying. So Rastafarian came to tell dem this is life. The system is only design to kill. If you notice what is going in the Middle East then, yeh. We have to know what we drink, what to eat and what to say. You know, words can kill is like how food can kill. We have to know where we go. Youth have to manifest the activities you thinking. The way you think and the way you feel as your emotion. That is why Rastafarian sings positive things to see positive ness in our environment.

Bvnt:
What did you do beside music?

Capleton:
I farm. I love to plant food. Because Haile Salasi has said at the end of the day you have to cultivate, you know. A nation has to look into agriculture to have food and better life. I grow up on a plantation on a farm. Food is the staff of life.

Bvnt
What is your message for the youth?

Capleton:
Stay away from drugs, stay away from crime. Be obedient to your god and parents. Know who you are. Know where you coming from in order to know where you going. Never accept the stripping of royalty in Babylon. Analyse your self to find the truth. Is not every thing they tell you is true. There are so many out there to destruct you. In the schools they teach us their curriculum. They taught us European philosophy instead of our own teaching. But you know love goes to all an Indian, Japanese European and who ever. I have to be truth to my self, firm meditation be truthful, self esteem, self reliance, self awareness and self taught. Education is the key so you have to also to re-educate it your self. Regardless what your mum and dad teach you but what you teach your self no one can teach you that.

Bvnt:
It is a pleasure to have you here.

Capleton:
Give thanks to the most high, Salasi I
