BOBO YOUTH BAND

The Bobo youths Band/ Soundsystem

Bvnt:
Good evening and welcome to Bvnt.

Panzer (Lead vocal):
It’s a pleasure to be here, give thanks.

Bvnt:
“Bobo Youths” a three man genre all from the Gambia. What is the composition of the band?

Panzer:
Well Bobo youths comprises of me (Panzer), Sami Banton and Bobson Rando

Bvnt:
How do you come together to form Bobo youths?

Panza:
Well as you know we all come from almost the same locality in the Gambia. I was interested in music since I was in the Gambia and like wise Sami and Bobson. Here in Germany we do meet in reggae parties and night clubs. Some times when the music hit us this one will sing and another Djaaying. This is how it all started back again and we decided to come together to form a group. It’s just like an inspiration and that is the Bobo youths, seen.

Bvnt
You have just released a new CD entitled Temptation. What is this project about?

Man a man has gone through many roads. As a traveller you come across many things on the journey. Temptation is just like we are speaking about the problems that we have confronted and still continue to see around. It’s like if one listen to the whole album the whole world seem to be like tempted. Too much trouble going on around the world. We should not be tempted but to believe in the whole mighty God who is the creator and the father of all.

Bvnt:
Track Nr.2 “Kunta Kenneth” This man is world wide known. Is it because of his power, pride and popularity that you come up with a track like this?

Panzer:
One would say Kunta Kinteh is like a Mirror of our origin. As a Gambian from a small tiny semi Island around the Atlantic cost to be known world wide is a pride for us. It’s an inspiration for us to sing a song like this. To make Gambia even much better known around the globe, Sala si-I.

Bvnt:
“I wonder” another song on Temptation CD.

Panzer:
We wonder what all these leading to. The song speaks itself. No more troubles and so called religious wars or fighting. We are trying to focus the minds of the youths that there are people out there trying to manipulate the minds of the youngsters by their ideologies and thoughts just making confusion around the world which at the end the youths have to suffer.

Bvnt:
You made a sung “Ganger tune”. What does that mean to you?

Panzer:
It’s a nature. I don’t think one should be against that. I smoke ganger almost every day. My Brethren dem smoke too. Ganja is good. People have to smoke it but should not sell it. Panzer says smoking but no dealing.

Bvnt:
“Some people” Another brilliant cut on the CD. Who are these people?

Panzer:
These are the people who feel themselves over every thing and over everybody. These are the informers. When they see you they would like to know where you get this and that. Liars off course. They are never happy with themselves but always talking negativity of some people.

Bvnt:
“Help me sing my song” A straight cut on Temptation.

Panzer:
Exactly. Help me sing my song is just like to talk and sing for the people whiles not try force your ideas in them. We just want to sing but not to preach.

Bvnt:
You are very active in the north Germany. Where is your next gig?
Well as we are touring right now on the Temptation CD. Our next gig is in Frankfurt and we are looking up to come to Stuttgart for more spreading of the message, bless.

Bvnt:
What is your message for the Stuttgart massive?

Panzer:
Temptation is an evil of Satan never turn your back to another fellow. Stay focus and know what you are doing. Blessed and much love Panzer say so.
